Ultra Gauge Mounting Plinth L316 Defender Instrument cluster
Ultra Gauge Mounting Plinth L316 Defender Instrument cluster This plinth allows the Ultra Gauge to mounted inside the center space of the instrument cluster. The plinth mounts the gauge accurately in the center of the instrument cluster easily without the need for gluing or other forms of fixture at the correct face height. Instructions are included for cutting of the plastic housing however the plinth allows for a degree of inaccuracy, Due to the design the alignment is maintained which makes for very easy mounting of the Ultra Gauge. The menu and scroll buttons on the gauge itself will require relocating externally. Momentary buttons can be supplied with wire tails from the drop down box when ordering they will need to be soldered to the Ultra Gauge unit this procedure is shown in the supplied instructions. There are two options for connection to the vehicle power and CANBUS for the unit to function again these choices are shown in the instructions. Care MUST be taken on disassembly and the instructions MUST be followed to avoid damage to the instrument cluster stepper motors, We do not hold any responsibility for and damage which maybe caused during this installation. Late vehicles with diesel particulate filters (DPF) have DPF warning lamps located in the center of the instrument cluster, These led warning lamps will no longer be visible however they can be relocated (we do not cover this procedure in our instructions), The Ultra Gauge alarms may be an acceptable warning of any DPF issues as the unit is programmable to display and warn when faults are present in the Engine Control Module (ECM). The unit has many user programmable parameters and up to 78 different gauges available subject the vehicle and engine type. The blue LED display is somewhat not in-keeping with the rest of the dash board however a green film can be applied to create a more factory style screen colour. Here is a link to the Official Ultra Gauge website where lots of information can be found on the unit and it can be purchased, However the gauge may be available more locally with a quick search of the internet. https://www.ultra-gauge.com/ultragauge/
